  • How long do the microchips last?
uPet microchips last the lifetime of your pet, once inserted. They will not move or migrate as each chip features an anti-migration coating to prevent it from moving under the skin. ⚠️ Each microchip has a use-by date, after which we cannot guarantee the syringe is sterile. You should insert the microchip before this date usually 5 years ℹ️ We use EO gas to sterilize the needles for at least 5 years.Few readers
  • How do your microchips help lost pets get home?
All our microchips are registered with AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup (http://petmicrochiplookup.org/), as is standard for any vet or shelter. Anyone with a scanner can find the microchip number and look it up on the search register to find the contact details associated with it.Few readers
  • Do I have to wait until the microchip is activated to be able to read it?
No. The microchips have an identification number that can be read immediately after they are inserted. Activation is critical because it links the owner’s contact details with the microchip number, so that anyone scanning in the future knows who to call if they find the pet.Few readers
  • Does each microchip have an individual syringe?
Yes. Every microchip comes preloaded into its own sterile syringe.Few readers
